The Hwb CV Builder uses structured choices, examples and supportive prompts to help a user recognise skills, organise information and create a professional PDF.
It is designed especially for young people aged 16–25 and for anyone who may have limited paid work history. Everyday responsibility, school projects, volunteering, clubs, caring, personal projects and practical learning can all provide useful evidence.
Work through Contact, Experience, Qualifications, Skills, Profile, CV design and Finish. Suggestions use the experience and qualifications already entered, while the user stays in control of every choice.
The finished professional PDF CV and a private, time-limited edit link are emailed to the saved address. If they do not arrive within a few minutes, check spam or junk before requesting a fresh secure return link.
The standard CV is free. An optional £5 separately designed PDF service is available for people who want additional visual customisation. Payment is not required to receive a complete CV.
A guided process
The interface begins with choices and examples rather than expecting a user to write long answers from memory. Optional free-text areas allow more detail where it is useful.
The participant-facing service does not expose AI chat, prompts, API keys or automated advice. Information supplied by the user remains the basis of the CV.

The current service collects information needed to create a CV, such as identity and contact details, experience, skills, qualifications, interests, goals and professional links. Date of birth is not part of the standard form.
Operational emails required to deliver or recover a CV are separate from optional programme or fundraising communication. Inactive records are archived after 12 months and permanently deleted after 24 months, with an earlier secure deletion route available. The detailed DPIA and organised-delivery responsibilities must still be completed before school or council rollout.
Before organised delivery, the commissioning organisation and The Hwb Collective should agree participant support, accessibility, safeguarding, privacy roles, data flow, retention, technical support and how any outcome evidence will be collected.
The CV Builder supports users to prepare a document. It does not guarantee employment, an interview, acceptance onto a course or a particular outcome. Users remain responsible for checking that the final CV is accurate before using it.
