The Hwb Collective’s current public offer is designed to help a young person move from uncertainty about their future into clearer preparation for applying, interviewing and explaining their strengths. Rather than presenting isolated tools, the updated route shows how each stage supports the next.
What is live now
The Career Direction Quiz helps a user explore five possible UK job roles based on interests, preferred working style and route preferences. It suggests subject directions, post-16 ideas and common routes such as apprenticeships, college, university or entry-level work. The quiz runs in the browser and does not ask for a name, account or email address.
The Free CV Builder remains the first fully live product. It guides users through experience, education, interests and skills so they can produce a downloadable CV without starting from a blank page. This tool has separate privacy information because it can email a finished CV.
The Interview Preparation Toolkit helps a user research an advert, identify key requirements, choose evidence examples and build a practical preparation checklist. It creates a printable preparation pack, again without storing the user’s answers on the website.
What is still in development
The planned Interview Practice App is intended to help users speak answers aloud, generate a transcript and review whether their answer is relevant, clear and supported by real evidence. Final technical details, including microphone permissions, transcription suppliers and data handling, will be published only when the service is complete and ready for release.
Why the route matters
A common problem for young people is knowing one small part of employability support but not seeing how the full journey connects. Someone may be told to write a CV before they understand which roles interest them, or attend an interview without having researched the employer properly. The current route aims to reduce that gap:

- Turn real experience into a CV.
- Research and prepare for an interview.
- Practise spoken answers with more confidence.
This structure is intended to be practical, not inflated. It does not make decisions for the user or promise job outcomes. It gives them a clearer starting point and better preparation for the next step.
